报告摘要:  

In this talk, I will discuss quantum many-body physics and quantum computation in atom arrays trapped by optical tweezers. In atom array, Rydberg excitation introduces the Rydberg blockade effect and results in intriguing many-body correlation effects such as quantum phase transition, quantum spin liquid, and quantum many-body scar states. I will introduce an emergent gauge theory as a unified description of these quantum many-body phenomena. I will also introduce recent progress in using atom arrays for quantum computation where the Rydberg blockade effect is used to realize a two-qubit gate. Finally, I will discuss the idea of a hybrid structure to study exotic quantum many-body correlations with quantum computation tools in this dual-purpose quantum platform.

报告人简介:  

翟荟,清华大学高等研究院教授,国家高层次人才。2002年本科毕业于清华大学物理系首届基础科学班,2005年初在清华大学高等研究院获得博士学位后,先后在美国俄亥俄州立大学和加州大学伯克利分校从事博士后研究。2009年回到清华大学高等研究院工作至今。主要从事冷原子、凝聚态等量子物质的理论研究,也涉及量子物质和量子信息、引力理论、机器学习等方向的交叉研究。2021年,他所著教材《超冷原子物理》(Ultracold Atomic Physics)在剑桥大学出版社出版。他先后荣获中国物理学会饶毓泰奖、美国物理学会会士、科学探索奖和北京市杰出青年中关村奖等荣誉。
